Thank you for all you do to make this a wonderful holiday apartment. You have made it more than a home from home. We tried most of the restaurant recommendations – all were very good. The views are amazing and we didn't regret not hiring a car. The bus and train services were enough for our stay not forgetting the ferry services. I am writing this as I prepare to return home to Scotland after what I can only describe as a glorious 8 days with you in this beautiful apartment. Thank you for all your support and kindness during my stay. The only regret I have is not taking a photo of us all enjoying a bottle of wine togethere when I arrived. Remember you must write down all of the incredible stories you have from your global life adventures!! I fell in love with Armona...a tropical paradis with endless beaches. I must have walked 20.000 steps every day exploring all corners of it and of Farol! I also had some incredible food! The indian across from the fish market was surprisingly very good – a great lunch time value for money restaurant. My favorite was Cha Cha Cha – loved, loved, loved it – and it has an incredideble gluten fee café too with bread to die for! Met eigen auto en fietsen mee. De heenweg was perfect. We waren keurig op tijd in dit fijne appartement. We hebben veel gewandeld, en wat gefietst, totdat Johan viel tijdens het hardlopen. Rib gekneusd, dus niet fietsen. Tot aan mijn verjaardag toen werd duidelijk wat we beter terug konden gaan, omdat het Corona virus alles in de war schopte. Veel zaken dicht, niet naar park enz. En Portugal dreigde met een lockdown. Wat te doen. We gaan terug, kinderen willen dat en regelen alles. Heel fijn. Auto bij Wim en Sophie, net als de fietsen. Fijne mensen. Olhão is voor ons met stip een prachtige uitvalsbasis. Ook treinen gaat prima. En wat goedkoop, 65+ korting overal. We eten soms buiten de deur, maar koken ook graag zelf. Groente, vis, kip, lekker vers van de markt. Elke ochtend buiten ontbijten, het zicht is steeds weer anders. De kokkelvissers zijn stipt op tijd. Johan heeft zelfs elke ochtend “sjans” met iemand van de reinigingsdienst. Er wordt steevast gezwaaid. Wij hebben geprobeerd dit fraaie onderkomen achter te laten zoals aangetroffen. Wat werden wij gastvrij ontvangen, na voor jullie een lastige dag in Altura. Gezellig koffie gedronken en nog diezelfde avond voelden wij ons helemaal thuis in dit gezellige appartement. We had a lovely time in Olhão. You are very kind and professional. You have provided for any need! The apartment is quite spacious and tastefully decorated with all mod cons. Our favorite space was the terrace – beautiful views over the salt pans and a variety of wild life to observe (flamingos, storks, wild geese etc.), Going to the beach is a little adventure as you need to take a ferry to the islands. Beste Sophie en Wim, jullie appartement is fantastisch en zeer goed verzorgd. De inrichting geeft een gezellig 'thuis'gevoel en aan alles is gedacht. We hebben fietsen gehuurd en het binnenland bekeken en de kust. Treintje genomen naar Albufeira (totaal niet herkenbaar door het massa toerisme). Het enige wat erg jammer is, is het geluid van de af- en aanrijdende auto's. Het geluid weerkaatst in de loggia en maakt het buitenzitten minder aangenaam. Misschien is het een optie om muren en plafond te voorzien van een zacht materiaal waardoor het geluid geabsorbeerd wordt. Verder heerlijk gegeten in Obote en vooral in Fuseta. Eindelijk waren wij nu in de gelegenheid om 14 dagen lang dit appartement van binnenuit te beleven. Deze locatie met dit prachtige uitzicht heeft ons al jarenlang geboeid. Direct bij ontvangst gaf het al een goed gevoel. Ruim, compleet en schoon. Je ziet dat aan alles veel andacht is en wordt besteed om de gasten zich thuis te laten voelen. Nou, en dat hebben we. Winter in Portugal. De lucht soms helder, soms bedek, is fris. Hondjes met korte pootjes en soms een truitje aan, zorgzame baasjes, zelf in winterjas en musten op. De bergen in waar de amandelbomen bloeien op het kale hout en hier en daar begint de mimosa. Lekker eten in de zon op een terras of met een boek languit op het dak. En wandelen en kijken naar de vogels, zoveel vogels, vogels , vogels en dan kom je thuis in een kleurig-warm huis dat de warmte uitstraalt van Sophie en Wim. Thijs & Joke, Bergen, februari 2017    

Het overslaan van de winter in Nederland is ons heel goed bevallen. Wat hebben we veel van de omgeving gezien. Met de fiets en de auto. Ook heel veel gewandeld. Meerdere keren Armona en Culatra aangedaan. En natuurlijk heel veel foto's gemaakt van niet-toeristische items. De mooiste schelpen gaan mee naar huis. We zullen het uitzicht heel erg gaan missen. De geur af en toe niet overigens, maar daar staan zoveel voordelen tegenover dat we dat voor lief nemen. Het weer was grillig, zon en warmte maar ook regen en kou. Morgenochtend vroeg vertrekken we weer en moeten ons mooie, gezellige appartement weer verlaten. Wat is het omgevlogen, de tijd dat we hier waren. De eerste 2 weken hadden we nogal wat regen, maar koud was het zeker niet. Tussen de buien door hebben we prachtige wandelingen kunnen maken en 'thuiskomen' was ook geen straf. We zijn een paar keer met de trein naar Faro en een een keer naar Monte Gordo geweest om de dames van vorig jaar te bezoeken. Met kennisssen uit Portimao zijn we met de ferry naar Calutra gevaren en naar Farol gewandeld om daar te lunchen. Daar hadden we pech, geen restaurant open!! We konden wel wat dringen en ze hebben een Dr Oetker pizza voor ons klaargemaakt. Ontzettend lief. Ook veel op het dakterras gelegen, in het zonnetje een boek gelezen. We gaan Waterfront zeker missen:  het mooie uitzicht,  het heerlijke terras, het rustige dakterras, het zalig liggende bed en de zeer goede WiFi ontvangst, etc., etc., etc. Wij zijn zowat de hele wereld over geweest en zijn best wel wat gewend. Waterfront was een complete verrasing, alles maar dan ook alles aanwezig. Bedenk het en het is er! Olhão is ons ook prima bevallen en we komen zeker een keer terug. Misschien aankomende winter. We hebben genoten van onze 10 dagen in Olhão, mede door julie werkelijk schitterende appartement. Het is zo heerlijk relaxed als alles wat je thuis gewend bent aanwezig is. We hebben genoten van het prachtige uitzicht en Theo heeft vele mooie plaatjes kunnen schieten. Lepalaars, flamingo´s, de kleine plevier, de steltkluut enz. staan er perfect op! Al met al zijn we hier nog lang niet uitgekeken en hebben we ons vakantieadres wel gevonden! We gaan dit ontzettend missen in ons koude en regenachtige Nederlandje. Hoop tot gauw. Where have the last 2 weeks gone, we have had such a wonderful time staying in your apartment in Olhão. We have experienced some beautiful food, sampled many nice wines and enjoyed fantastic views of the Ria Formosa. Would recommend Armona beach due to short ferry ride, go to the far side which has a small café and sun loungers to hire saves bringing your own. Excellent apartment, really appreciate the toiletries and all the extra’s not usually provided in an apartment. Loved the atmosphere around the markets especially the outdoor one on Saturday. Canteloupe Café has the best coffee! Take a trip to the beaches, well worth it. Sophie is the perfect host! From the outset the communication was fantastic; accommodating the variety of needs the guests had; offering to arrange airport transfers & making extending the stay simple. The accommodation was used for business purposes, as the organiser I cannot fault Sophie’s attention to detail to make sure that everything was as it should be for the three ladies who stayed. The apartment was simply perfect for what was required in terms of space & location. Sophie personally met the guests and explained everything well; she made it clear that she was on-hand to answer any questions and help with anything throughout the stay. A lovely personal touch was a note from Sophie to each of the ladies; something so simple yet thoughtful; a fab touch! Apartment waterfront Olhão is the most beautiful well equipped apartment one could ever wish to stay in. Sophie and Willem the owners are both lovely people and were so helpful to us on our arrival. The town and restaurants are just a short stroll away as is the ferry where you can go island hopping or go to the beach. Sophie has thought of everything from toiletries to a shopping trolley. The view from the apartment was beautiful and a perfect place to sit at the end of the day with a glass of wine. Will definitely be going back to this romantic haven. Op loopafstand zijn er restaurantjes waar je heerlijk en betaalbaar kunt eten. De eigenaren van het appartement zijn vriendelijk en gastvrij die voor je klaar staan mochten er problemen/vragen zijn. Handig vonden wij de informatiemap met waar de stranden zijn en om mooie uitstapjes te maken in het nog niet zo toeristische gebied van de Algarve. Zeker een plek om terug te komen. Het appartementengebouw is op korte afstand gelegen van het centrum van Olhão met zijn dagelijkse groente en vismarkt. Restaurants in overvloed. De accomodatie is tip top ingericht en wordt goed onderhouden en schoongemaakt. Bij aankomst hoef je niet meteen naar een winkel want de basis etenswaren en drankjes zijn er. Het verkeersgeluid van de openbare weg is vanaf het balkon soms nadrukkelijk aanwezig. Prima uitzicht op de zee en de zoutpannen.

Stayed in Waterfront for 5 days end Nov. Over the last 5 years we have stayed in apartments all over Europe on at least 20 occasions and this rates as the best apartment we have stayed in. It had everything you could want. Very friendly and efficient owners, excellent location. The views of the sun setting from the balcony were fantastic as were the choice and quality of the many restaurants within 10-15 minutes stroll. Bij binnenkomst tref je een volledig ingericht en zeer goed verzorgd appartement aan. Alles is aanwezig, van tandenborstel tot koffie, van strandlaken tot badjas en wordt waar nodig ook aangevuld. Het bed is erg goed, wat in onze ervaring zeker niet overal is. Vanaf het prachtige ruime balkon kun je de zonsondergang zien. This apartment is in a fantastic location with wonderful panoramic views. It is immaculate and furnished to a very high standard. The owners were there to greet us and explain everything. It has all the usual facilities plus unexpected extras such as bathrobes, shampoo, toothbrushes, tea, coffee, washing powder..... plus a bottle of wine to welcome us and a very comprehensive pack of information. Mi mujer y yo pasamos unos días maravillosos en este acogedor apartamento. Todo estuvo perfecto. El piso está muy bien decorado y el mobiliario es muy confortable. Todo está pensado para que el visitante pase unos días inolvidables. Además, todo parecía como si lo estuviésemos estrenando. No tenemos ninguna pega. Todo perfecto. Y después, la vista. Increible. Justo en primera línea. Teníamos delante la ría y podíamos ver las islas desde nuestra gran terraza.
La ciudad de Olhão es pequeña, tranquila y agradable. El apartamento está situado en la calle principal, pero en una zona muy tranquila. El que busque animación solo tiene que caminar unos quinientos metros y estará en la zona de los mercados en donde hay muchos bares y restaurantes.
